hi all
Getting back into the rc racing again but having some problem with the car. The problem starts when i accelerate down the long straight at our club turn for the corner then the car stays flat out with the steering servo locked over to one side and the transmitter does nothing. The kit i'm using is a savox 1251 steering servo a code sport transmitter and receiver reedy 7000mah lipo batteries a lrp x20 stock spec motor and a core rc speed controller, speaking to one of the lads tonight he's suggested trying a receiver booster. just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before and what the cure is. Any help greatly received. Many thanks |

Savox servos are notoriously demanding of power, wouldn't surprise me if that is what is causing the problems. You can try a capacitor in the receiver but personally I would be looking to use something other than a Savox in the car. If you have a normal servo to hand try running that in the car and see if you have the same issue or not.

YEP HAD THE SAME PRO LAST WEEK. FITTED A CAPACITOR ON RECEIVER AND NOW TESTED TO OVER 50METERS WITH NO PROBS FULL THROTTLE AND CORNERING.NOT A GLITCH.DEFO THE WAY TO GO

Ebay ID 281276352935 or if you've an old servo lead buy a capacitor for about £ 1.00 from Maplin and make your own.

or you could make your own with a 4700uf 16 volt electrolytic Capacitor and a old servo cable with the signal wire removed |

Savox servo's (and probably most others) only tend to draw high currents under stall conditions. its worth making sure your endpoints aren't too high and the servo isn't trying to move when there's nowhere to go.
Definitely worth putting the cap on, code receivers are pretty sensitive to voltage drops. |

Its also worth checking that your steering rack is really free and not binding in any way. I had the same issue, and it was due to the servo needing to draw loads of power because my steering rack was stiff (thread lock on a pivot). Once i had loosened it up, the problem went away.
