Default A frustrated driver

Ive fairly recently started racing after a 16 year rest and im slightly frustrated.
I love my car (yokomo bx ) but im finding it difficult trying to dial it in.
Are these cars notoriously difficult especially for someone whos just come back into the sport ?
Im begining to wonder if i should try a different chassis.
Any thoughts?

The BX was a good car, should still feel good now.

Perhaps take it back to the manual setup - while doing it, check all bearings roll, all hingepins flop, nothing is bent and shock seals not binding. Then start from there.

Anyone with a BX reading this may be able to point you to a setup. CML website is likely to have Craggs and Bradders setup available - which are reknown for being universally good for all who try them.

I always found the BX difficult to drive in high grip. Low grip/wet it was awesome. I changed to the XX4 which is a much easier chassis to drive and doesn't really require much in the way of setup change.

Cheers guys , ive a couple of guys at the local club who get on well with the losi , they just seem to cope well with turning in , seems to hug the corners better.
Ive been sent an excellent message on how to set up the car so ill look into it.

The BX was always awkward to setup. The worse thing you can do is go back to the kit setup as it's hopeless for UK tracks. Best thing to do is flip the rear turnbuckle plate /gearbox top over so the ball studs point downwards, then make up a spacer raising the plate until the inner ball joints have 1-2mm clearance to the diff outdrives. Like someone else mentioned, it's a difficult kit to get working well on high grip tracks, so much so that I gave up on it earlier this year. However, with upgraded 4mm thick shock towers it's the strongest kit I've ever raced, so has it's good points.

Well i raced it today and it actually felt pretty darn good.
Ive yet to get some decent grip on the polished parts of the floor , but it went well .
Half of it is me learning to drive accurately again .
Ive made the rear linkage mod , softened the shocks as it was too hard for the bumps , now it soaks them up rather well.
So i guess its perserverance as it does has rather a lot of adjustments and is tricky to dial it up well.
