Default TA04

What are peoples' views on the TA04 for Clubman racing?

will they take square lipos without hacking the chassis with a dremel?

Does anybody have one they want to sell me?

Personally no objections, if the pace is right why not? I'd like to see more cool tourers anyway not just Tamiya stuff but HPIs and Vaterras. I've even contemplated a Traxxas Ford Fiesta

That little fiesta can be run with 2 7.4v NiMH packs or a 3s lipo Obviously that would be too much... shame...

Tiny rocks indoors The lil Mardave is so easy to handle on a tight track.

Sorry to go on about Traxxas stuff, but the chassis for the Fiesta is a thing of beauty, lay down shocks and centrally mounted motor:

They are good but the std servo is pants, first corner and it has a heart attack and spits it's teeth out.

All Traxxas servos are poop.

As far as current Tamiya chassis for Clubman the one that tempts me the most is the TB04.

PS: Were we talking about the 1/16 traxxas servo or some Tamiya servo?

Very nice Lee, but probably too expensive and not enough cheap plastic for my liking!

The TB03 also has ifs but I can't find any going cheap

It's true and they ain't a normal size lol. Mini size as found on rc helicopters. Std traxxas servo total poop.
A heat of these and using Martins new humps would be so cool. Like rallyX

hehehehe yes Its the same chassis as their mini short course truck, truggy and rock racer. Should cope with plenty of jumps.

Used to run a TA04R (or Pro or whatever it was) years ago in the Tamiya Eurocup - good car but never ever had enough steering as far as I recall. Not sure about getting LiPos in because they weren't around in those days... Sold it now though.

I do remember running a 45T pinion in it at the old Ashby track! And I think Rob J ran the 44T that came in the same packet!!! They were 0.4mod gears, mind.

Cheers for the info Paul - am looking closer at pictures of the chassis and it "looks like" it will take a LIPO. The TB03 definately will.
