Default Ball diff into TM2 issue(s) ?

Upon trying to fit the ball diff from my x4te (Team C T4 v2 ??) I'm noticing the crown gear fouls the bottom of the lower g/box housing. The TM2 g/box looks the same as that used in the 4wd as it has a circular groove cut out of the base to clear the crown gear but the ball diff mounts the other way around in the TM2 than in the 4wd (otherwise the wheels will go backwards, lol) & therefore it won't fit.

Firstly, a) do I just dremel a clearance slot into the base of the g/box housing to allow fitting the ball diff or am I missing something else ?
b) are the plastic crown gear teeth on the ball diff actually the same mesh as the metal centre driveshaft gear as used on the TM2 or do you need to use the plastic centre driveshaft gear off the 4wd when using the ball diff ?

You will need to Dremel a bit out to clear the diff, but the crown gear should be fine.
