Hi Guys, Stuart and I have a couple of Tamiya F1's that we run at Broxtowe, im hoping to get down to Westbridgeford this Friday and Stuart is coming as well.
We are planning to run them in the clubman if thats ok? (as its quite away I think I will bring my tamiya FF03 as a backup car) Can anybody see any issues with the above? Regards Scott. ![]() |

No problems at guys - Paul often runs his modded F103 with Le Mans shell in that class.
Im running an FF01 this friday if you do want the break out the FF03 ![]()

Chris, do you run your FF01 in the clubman?

Yes I do - its effectively a Tamiya class, we also have people running Minis, TL/TT01s and even a small cohort of Holiday Buggies

I ran my holiday buggy a couple of weeks ago .. great fun ... what motor do you have in your FF03 ...
I have the stock 21.5 brushless in the F1 as per the rule book ... essentially the same just with better brakes and more effecient Ive been told? scott. |

Chris has a 13T sensorless brushless in the FF01. But don't let that stop you from putting something slower in your FF03
![]() Most people are running silvercans or high turn brushed motors. 23 to 27T should be perfect. Peter was running a rebuild-able 27T in his Mini and on the straights we were dead even, I am running a very rusty and old sealed can 23T in my TL01. The Holiday buggies are running silvercans, on the straights they can't touch me (or Peter's Mini) but they seem to have pretty nice acceleration out of the turns in the infield, better than me at least! PS: Always nice to see more Tamiyas in Clubman ![]() |

Good to hear that a mix of motors are allow .. my FF03 has a blink 17.5 brishless which I think is classed as stock touring

Would be good to see some F1s running. Might bring back the Jag especially. Although I must admit that running off-road again last week was really good fun. Bit different to a pan car...

![]() Also if you run that Tyrrell then that's at least in my view the coolest car I've ever seen at the club by a huge margin! And surely cements Clubman as a class worth developing and cherishing. I'm loving racing my old TL01, it gets better with every outing and so far I've not broken anything. Makes a huge change from attempting to run it amongst the Outlaws last year where a break would occur 3 or 4 laps in at most. Talking of cool cars, what I'd personally love to run in Clubman is a Tamiya Street Devil: ![]() But I've not seen one for sale in years... |

Looked awesome on tracxk - plus it beat the Shamcar by 1 second in the final!
Dave, didn't I hear you mention that there is a 1 second penalty for each additional wheel a car has?

Great to get down and run the F1's again this week ...good chatting to you all, thanks for the use of the soldering Iron fella (dont know your name as yet)
Cant beleive that the Tyrrell didnt sustain any damage! a set of frotn wheel bearings arrived today from malasia, cheap as chips ... Ill run my FF03 next time I come down ... And yes that Street Devil is so cool. ![]() Scott. |

The Tyrrell looked awesome Scott. And no worries about lending you the soldering iron. Next time though we want to see some '70s style celebrations after the race!
Cheers, Paul 'avin a rest-a.

No but you have a five place penalty for a gearbox change.

Doh! although I would question the term "gearbox" though - more like the paper cogs from a pepper mill and a bit of superglue
