Default DEX210 +8mm, DESC210r and DEST210r aluminum chassis

Is there any interest in an aluminum chassis for the SC or ST? I'm also working on a +8mm aluminum chassis. I will be doing some serious testing with an aluminum SC chassis this comming weekend and see how it compares to the plastic one. Heres a pic before it gets the kick up bent tomorrow

and a pic showing its extra length compared to a stock length peice (an easy way to confirm the hole locations)

Post here or pm me if your interested in any of the 3 chassis, I'll probably only do 1 run of them (a total of about 50 chassis) so I want to get a ballpark of how many of each to make

back to back tested against standard, with original set up no good. Lots of understeer.

Adjusted a few things to get some steering better but not as fast as the standard car.
awesome on the sweepers and getting on power, but struggled though the twisty bits.

Shelved and went back standard, but now thinking a brass front bulkhead........

To note if your only using crap ally, don't machine out for the reciever wires.

Guess where it bends.

Thats why the first bunch of testing will be with the SC chassis, if there's going to be any issues, it will happen with that chassis. In the event its not ridgid enough we do have an alternative plan to prevent any issues. These won't b for sale until after we've done some serious testing

Hi are you still doing these? I would be interested in a +8mm chassis for the buggy. Also do you still use the kit body?

yup, its still a work in progress. The buggy chassis are pretty much ready to go, the regular ones IMo are good, just waiting on some testing with the light weight version I've been working on. I'm running a finnisher body, but the kit also will work, it just doesn't line up nicely around the nose and had to re drill the front body mount so its a big slot now. The ST chassis should be good soon and I just need to get another SC chassis made to verify its 100% good to go. PM me if you want one, I'm trying to make a list of those who want one in chronological order to when I was pmed. As on now, I can sell the buggy chassis faster then I can get them, but I don't know how fast I can get them quite yet.

I would be interested in a lightweight +8mm alloy chassis for the dex210, let me know when you get it done! Also how much would it cost including postage to the UK. One more thing, is the finisher body the best fit, or could I cut my brand new uncut stock body to fit just as well, or is the durango +8mm cab forward body the best fit?
Thanks, Jon.

any body will fit, just trim the nose section 8mm farther forward if possible, as well as the body mount hole. I'm very tempted on trying the +8mm TD body, I hear it handles better, and the body posts should line up

How much are the chassis for the desc210r? Also will I need to assemble them at all?

This project is still a work in project. Its a friend on mine working on it when he has time and lately has been doing more over time so progress has been slow. When they are available, it will be the chassis and spacers, possibly fasteners, so you'd just need the buggy side pods for the SC and ST chassis, everything else should bolt right up

someone said if ur using crap alu it bends wer the receiver wire part is machined, if thats the case it is more flexable which will make the car even easier to driver and even worse in tight parts of the track

in theory yes, but flex is minimal movement which the returns to normal position. Bent is just bent. Or as we say in rc tweaked!!

I have never had durability issues any were even close to the milled section, if fact the LW version is milled even more with no issues there.

The only issues I've had are at my home track, myself an a couple other running these chassis have bent the kick up area, that being said I've bent the stocker as bad if not worse before, but no one else has had any issues with durability. I've been looking into ageing to try fixing that issue that mysef and locals are having

But what im trying to say is if u just wanted to c wat the longer chassis did u need the alu to hav the same flex as the original because if it has more flex you are now changing two varibles!

the flex on the original and an un milled +8mm is basically the same, more flex with the milled light weight one.

This si still a work in progress but no progress has been made for a bit. The machinist is still catching up on a couple jobs so this has been moved to the back burner.
