In need of an electrics guru, have the above an when everything's connected the motor gets hot after a few moments an the speedo I think seems to shut it off, any ideas with what's up with it or if it could hopefully be fixed?

I remember something like this happening when I had the power wires (A,B,C) accidentally connected wrong.

If your spur and pinion are not binding, and your drive train runs freely when not connected to a motor, then that only really leaves:

(a) gearing too high (fit smaller pinion, or larger spur gear or lower boost settings.)

(b) speedo / motor is faulty

also if you run on deep grass with not enough ground clearance it may overheat as you describe.

The gear isn't even in the car mate, I reckon its the speedo that's had it but just wanted to try an find out why an if it could be fixed?
