Default Esprit 2 problem

Hi All

I recently got one of these in a swap, but unfortunately it seems that the stick that is responsible for the steering is faulty. If I move the stick to its full extent (left or right) and release it then it centres to the centre 'neutral' setting. However if I move teh stick to the full extent and move it back to the centre.. (As you do when driving) it doesnt return to the centre 'neutral' value so the car vears of to the right.

Is there anyway to replace these? or is there a screw / setting that I can adjust to sort this out? or would spraying a load of electrical cleaner in it help?

(BTW I checked its not the servo by plugging in my trusty 15 year old acoms and it centres everytime).
Cheers

i guess the stick is 'sticking' then somewhere, might just be all the dead finger skin lurking in the mechanism or crud etc..you could try giving it a blast with some gt85 around the stick area where the plastics rub..failing that you might have to take the back off.

could also be that the spring has weakened on it..does it have an adjustable spring tension?
