Hi, We do some Carbon Fibre shock towers for the Yokomo BMAX4 in our "DMS Partz" rnage which is available from any of our X-Fcatory UK dealers.

Part numbers are DMS164 (Carbon Fibre 4mm front), DMS165 (Carbon fibre 4mm rear) or, DMS177 ("CarbonFlex" 4mm front), DMS178 ("CarbonFlex" 4mm rear)

What is the difference between the normal and the flex versions? (and how much is shipping to Germany for a front and rear set?)

That was interesting, spes the flex-type!

I ordered from diggity but I have to dremle down cause it's not for the spec verson...

I can't find any for the spes-verson, only for the older type. Then I have to dremle this also...

Couple of pics from DMS site, hope they don't mind them been shared. For the latest WN car I guess you would need to Dremel the tie rod mounting points off. I too don't know what difference is between std and flex versions except price, I'm guessing flex version could be laminated.

Really tempted to order some for my son's car, but he'll switch to 2WD next season anyway and we've still got some spare plastic shock towers in the box... Funds are needed for all those yummy B-Max2 upgrades that will be available (probably) in June.

CarbonFlex is a special material which is a mix that is interwoven with the pure carbon fibre, resulting in more flex than standard "pure" carbon and also as a result cheaper too.

However unlike other cheaper laminates that are simply a thin layer of carbon either side of a cheaper material in a sandwich, this material is the same throughout the whole thickness and interwoven.

Darren thanks for the explanation very helpful, is there much difference in strength i.e. is one more likely to break than the other, or are they pretty similar.

The "pure" carbon is ultimately stronger but has zero give in it, whereas the CarbonFlex will "flex" more (hence the name) before snapping etc....
