Thin diff oil?

I'v noticed in the latest setup's that Ellis, and Adam have posted there running quite thin oil compared to there normal setup's.

Most of the team were using 12'500 front and either 7'000 or 5'000 rear.

One of Ellis setup's he was running 3'000 front and 1'000 rear

Anybody know why they did this, and how it went?

with gear diffs and oils
Front diff - Thinner oil Increases steering into corners (off-power) If oil is too thin the steering may become inconsistent,
especially it can lose forward traction (and steering)
during acceleration out of corners

Thicker oil Increases stability into corners during braking
Increases steering on-power at corner exit

Rear Diff Thinner oil Increases cornering traction
Increases steering into corner.

Thicker oil Decreases rear traction while cornering
Reduces wheelspin

But you dont want too much difference between front and rear, so you wouldn't want to run 12k front and 3k rear
The xray xb4 seems to prefer running lighter oils, I'm currently down to 7k front and 5k rear and have been tempted by 5k front and 3k rear. but not done it yet.

Its possible that Ellis and adam have been looking at what the xray's are doing and attempting the thinner oils in the durango to see how it works out.
Indoors I'd imagine it gives more grip, but for outdoor tracks i'd have thought thickening the oils back up would make sense
