Seriously though, why in modern Britain do we still mess with the time twice a year ... no sense I can see

In 1975 the US DOT conservatively identified a 0.7% reduction in traffic fatalities during DST, and estimated the real reduction to be 1.5% to 2%

haha, ive said this for years, just move em by half hour to the middle and keep em there.

whatever the reason, just stop it FFS, really. its a total stupid waste of time both sides, one you gain one you lose, either way, its a pain. just decide on a time and have done with it.

If the clocks stayed on GMT all year, then it would be dark by 9pm on average through the summer and light about 4am. Why waste the daylight?
