Default Trakpower 3200 in the BX

I got some Trakpower 3200's and slotted them in the BX.

Battery trays out and they are a fairly nice fit, will need to fabricate something to stop lateral movement though.

The custom CF straps someone had on their D4 looked nice. Somebody also suggested heat shrinkning a battry strap to the cell, that seems like quite a nice idea.

b&q thin self adhesive rubber draught excluding sealant strip is what you need mate.

it's not pretty, but a few strips on your bottom plate and battery straps will stop any movement. it's been working in my b44 for quite a while now

You can get little carbon plates from schu which you stick to the lipo and sit in the battery holes of the chassis, that should hold them?

What is the fan that is blowing on the motor mounted to?

There is a guy over here in the states that make carbon fiber trays the lipo packs sit in to stop lateral movement. He has them for the B44, and there I think he is making some for the BX too.

Many thanks for all the ideas.

I currently have foam on just the top straps so i can see how extra foam would work as it is gripped reasonably well already, I would just be worried that in a major tumble it could end up touching the rear belt.

The carbon strips seem like a good simple idea, I plan to run only one pack.

The cut out tray looks like a great solution and well made, I realy fancy a set of those. I will try and find out if he's doing a bx version, or look into drawing my own up. Cheers.

The fan is attatched to a servo mount (GPM Tamiya TT-01 alloy mount I think), got the idea from Bathy on here.

I ran the Trakpower 4800's Friday night in my BX Worlds. They fit OK into the stock trays, not perfect but it got me through. I'm talking with Diggity Designs now to get a set of lipo Trays made for the BX. I'll be sending him my chassis to get measurements this week.

I'll post more when I have more info.

How did the 4800 fit height wise?

On the worlds they fit fine. There was plenty of room vertically, the stock battery trays are a bit too narrow. I also had to use different battery posts (the ones from my Diggity B44 trays). They really need a proper Lipo Tray to fit right, but Diggity should be able to provide those.

Did you need the battery posts for the height, or length too?

I'd heard the standard posts work ok length wise?

Yes, length wise the battery fits fine. The 4800's are just too tall for the stock battery posts.

Haven't built mine yet and away at the moment, but do the bx ones work by having a screw through the chassis for the posts to screw on like the 501x?

If so height could be sorted by putting washers under the posts I guess? I'd always expected 4800's to foul the topdecks so hadn't looked into it!
