Default durga build question

i just finished building my tamiya durga db01, i have a castle creations sidewinder with a 5700kv motor and a spectrum radio. I got it all programed, but when i hit the throttle it sputters as if the belts were slipping or as if something was not connected correctly. I went back and tightned the diffs to see if that would help, but nothing changed. If someone could please help me i would appreciate it. thankyou

thats cogging, can you take a picture of your installation and provide gear ratio's. Not familiar with the Sidewinder, but certain things will cause any brushless to stutter.

What would be a good gear ratio for a Mamba Max 5700kV & db-01?

I have the 6900kv and run it with a 17T pinion, temps are very good!

About the stutter, does it only appear when you hit throttle very gently? If so, thats normal as the Mamba motor isn't sensored and it stutters at very low speeds.

Default Durga Setup Issue

Hi there, i have a very similar issue - I have just finish building the durga (after having a head ache with the screws!!). But when i give it full throttle it sounds as though the belt is slipping (which it isnt) - i also thought it may have had something to do with the Diffs but not sure at this point. I am intending to strip it back to the diffs over the weekend and revisit the setup.

I am using the standard 540 motor which came with the kit (which i need to upgrade) also the ESC is a P-XTRA-QUAKE FBR 5~10C

Any advice would be most appreciated - havnt really been that involved in the RC world since the days of the Thunder Dragon so a little rusty :-)

Cheers

if you hold the front wheels between your knee's and hold one rear wheel still, and try to turn the other, if it turns, then the rear diff needs tightening, and swap ends and do it again

It ended up being the ESC. It cooked for some reason before i even used it and it was covered under warranty. Put the new one in and presto. Perfect as if nothing ever happened.

Hi DCM, cheers for that and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I found that yep the cap screw was loose in the front and rear dif - i have tightened it up and all works really well for a few runs then it lossens back - is it vesable to use something like lock tight?

cheers in advance
