What's the 4 wheel drive to buy help!!

Hi as title I'm looking to buy a new four wheel drive buggy but not sure what to get?? Looking to spend around £300-350! Like the look of the k1 and xb4! Any help would be great thanks Gaz

According to RCC Racer mag the K1 just edges it, they're both going to be pretty damn good though!

try to keep in mind though that the B44.2 uses imperial screws and nuts.

I recently had this same debate with myself, when it came to getting a 4wd, and I went with the XB4
Its a great car, fantastic build and goes really well and is easy to drive
it has some great selling points that attracted me to it because for me if your going to spend that much money on a kit the little things count.
it has alloy front and rear pivot blocks, alloy shock collars, adjustable chassis flex, alloy 14mm wheel hexes front and rear, comes with rollbars in the kit, the manual is full colour and very easy to follow, there is loads of space for electrics to go in. and then there the support from xray, the car is new to market and bound to have teething problems and once some of the big ones were addressed xray released a free upgrade pack to all to correct the issues.
I was also really impressed with the fact that the kit included shock and diff oil.
not much, but like I said, every little counts.

Another great 4WD to consider is the yokomo Bmax 4 2012
great parts support from MB models and a very good car, also dead easy to drive

I've heard you have to quite aggressive driving Durango cars, or is that not completely accurate?

I want to get a 4wd myself in a year or so, once I can get my 22 round EPR at a respectable rate of knots. Always liked the idea of owning a Schumacher Cat, it was the nuts when I were 'a lad and still seems top notch now.

Had a b44.1 which I wasn't happy with, had several issues so got a dex410v3. It was like night and day, put it on the track with kit setup and it was a beast, brilliant to drive, can't wait to actually fine tune it.

Cons of this car, the manual in places Sucks but if you know what your doing, it's worth the hassle.

I've had the Durango DEX410 full fat and the Durango DEX410 V3. Both cars where very nice to drive, easy to work on etc...

Now I've got the XB4, I've tested it one time @ the indoor track and I was with the base setup 0.5sec faster in my personal fastest time then I was with my DEX410 V3.

I think with Schumacher's history in 1/10 electric off road they're seen as the bench mark that others are measured. I think.

K1 our sx3 for me also the kyosho is very nice to drive but costly

i did have the same dilemma, in the end i bought the K1 and 44.2 i liked the Xray but as people on here say there the new kid on the block as opposed to the others, and near me in Leeds only 1 store had them and spares were not in abundance, unlike K1 and 44.2 there was shed loads

The engineering on the xray is supposed to be very very good.

On building both over the past week, the K1 wins hands down on better Instructions easier Bag numbering etc.

But all in all they are both great cars, RC10 the aged old beast of the 80s.

If i had to put my money on something it would be between the 2 i got and not the Xray for the sole reason of availability.

i had the 44.2 and durango v3. went to xb4 and havent looked back to be honest. spares now not a prob as most shops have them and they are gaining a following in most areas. initial issues have been ironed out so buy with confidence. xray quality is amongst the best out the IMHO. any questions feel free to call the shop. will even pass on my full setup for b44.2, dango or xb4 depending on which route you go

Gonna ask a dumb question here but... why does nobody ever seem to recommend Tamiya's in these threads?

Surely their TRF 2WD and 4WD cars at least rate a mention?

Difficult to get and expensive. Good cars though
