Default Fr Sky cheap receiver fail...

Bought the Hack Module thing a while ago for my KO and some of the crazy cheap / small receivers that are basically a circuit board wrapped in cardboard.

Thing is the ariel wire fell off - it always looked very, very flimsy. It had all this crazy yellow glue around it on the circuit board - so looks tricky to solder back on.

Question is - will it be ok without the ariel - it was tiny anyway!
Have people run these ok with ariels missing - I guess they generally fall off as they are so flimsy?

It looses range without the aerial. Mine would bind and unbind when it went 20m away.
I haven't got around to seeing if it can be fixed as just bought another. The new receivers are slightly longer though and don't fit as well.
With the aerials I just wrapped mine around a small piece of foam and taped it to the receiver. Haven't had any problems with the others

It can be re-soldered. I'll find the link that shows the tab it goes on.
I could do it, if you don't fancy it.

This is the newer model, if you want to get a spare: http://www.t9hobbysport.com/item.asp...36&prodid=1034
The shop is local (to Leeds/Bradford) in Greengates, but mostly mail order as they only open for a few hours each day to process online orders.

I've heatshrinked mine, and curled the wire inside to protect it. I've also done a mod to make the laid down servo pins vertical, so the footprint is much smaller.

That's great help and saves me searching the web. I will resurrect mine when I get chance.

Any particular wire? Size, strands etc Or just something that's flexible?

Cheers Neal great info

My reciever is covered in yellow goo so I can't see the circuit board where the ariel goes

Any good ways to get it off so I can see what I'm doing !
