Default Steering servo for ZX5 FS2 SP?

Hey guys, I just picked up a Lazer ZX-5 FS2 SP kit for a pretty good price (how's $390 posted sound ) and I'm not sure what servo to get. I've seen the Savox an KO Propo one's but they a bit more than what I wanted to spend, I wanted to keep it under $50AUD if possible.

It's gotta be good quality, metal gears and ballraced and suit a Futaba reciever. Thanks for any advice.

Whatever you buy mate i found a low profile servo fits in the car a whole lot better than a standard size one ;-)

Futaba BLS551 is perfect, might be struggling to meet your budget tho' , perhaps keep an eye on ebay.

100% agree with the low profile servo being the best for the Lazer, only way to get a straight link from servo to bellcranks.

The Futaba BLS551 is what I have in mine but the current Orion low profile servo seems very good and is a fair bit cheaper than the Futaba

Yea I've always had Futaba radio gear so I might go with the BLS551. It's more than I wanted to spend but I've paid more for servos in the past and it's not looking like I'll find anything decent for under $50.

I know the Savox is very good but I keep reading that they are power hungry.

Now to shop around for the best price. I'm assuming it'll work with a Futaba 2PL 2.4G radio? I might upgrade to a higher spec radio later but seeing as I already have it I might as well use it.

Was going to fit a low profile orion/sanwa, but had a spare 1258 kicking around. Managed to get the steering link fairly square; losi long ball stud, hudy low offset servo horn and a ~3mm spacer.

Nice pic Chris-S, looks pretty flash with all the gear and carbon fibre parts. What's the red square device?

I ordered the Futaba BLS551, just waiting for it to arrive along with the tyres and shock oil from A-main before I start building it.
