Hi Guys,
What Brushed motors do you run, not winds, manufacturer and why. Not having a lot of luck with motors at the moment, your comments please. Any interested in a Group Buy? Get 10 or more orders (on most popular mamufacturer) i may be able to source a good discount. |

As a side note, if you run the regular type of motor, the Trinity XXX lemans brush seems to last forever and gives good power too.

ive been using checkpoint motors, the comm lasts ages and if kept clean, require very little maintenance.

I really like the Checkpoints too. I ran V2's for a while before the Chekpoints I have now, they were able to deal with heat very well but were never that quick.
The Checkpoints I have now are silly fast and the brushes will not burn, the brush braid's can go cherry red and the brush will still be fine. |

I'm with Rich there - I alternate between a checkpoint and a v2 in my XX4.The checkpoint is the faster motor and lasts much longer as well, but the v2 is a smoother motor to use with more presice power delivery

I agree with Richard about V2's handling the heat. I did 6 minutes at York before Christmas and mine came off reading 104 degrees C in my 4WD. Stripped it down over Christmas expecting to find lots of solder splatterd around inside. But No, all was fine just a skim needed!!
Anyway, I also think Checkpoints are now the best brushed motors on all fronts, speed, ease of maintainence etc etc... I skimmed, rebrushed and re-built a couple for someone at the last indoor regional. My next motor(s) will be definitely be Checkpoints for 2WD, 4WD and 19t Spec. |

Although I hear good things about the checkpoints, I run v2s.
I think the V2 looks better. The endbell keeps the motors heat down and the brushes provide excellent wear, plus, the motors seem a bit cheaper than the checkpoints and the brushes are more available |

So we have a chocie of to, v2 or checkpoint.
Can we get 10 sales on either? Let me know what winds people want and what motor, will do my best to get a quantity discount! |

In my experience on the two I MUCH prefer the checkpoints. The V2's weren't that quick, or if you made them that quick they weren't very easy on brushes.
Rich Lowe used to talk up the V2's so much, but now runs Checkpoints ![]()

Probalbly too quick for me to handle then, I struggle with my 11 and 12 turn V2s in 2wd
![]() Using one in my latest review car, bit battered but its at least a couple of years old, maybe more! my motor box is a graveyard of knackered old motors now so one of these new oscar jansens looks good. The checkpoints appeal but I might stick with what I know http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/misc/501xwiring.jpg Last edited by jimmy; 09-01-2007 at 11:44 AM. |

You really need a blue endbell V2 to go with the rest of the alloy Jimmy
![]() I think I've got a MR V2 can and endbell around somewhere... ![]() |

Course the other advantage of checkpoints is they are a breeze to solder onto the tabs, unlike V2's which are a nightmare.
Jimmy, do you always put your speedo in before wiring it?????
