Default Wanted: LAZER ZXR Mk 1 Damper Stay LAW-6

I'm after an original Lazer ZXR Mk1 damper stay (LAW-6). I'm not worried if the condition isn't great, I just need it so that I can send it to Fibre-Lyte for reproduction in carbon fibre. In fact, if no one has one available a scan would be useful as I could draw the template from it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's the last part I need to complete my project

i have one on the front of one of my lazers thats made out of carbon and looks just like a law-6

if you have no luck getting one i could take mine off and draw around it and cut it out of cardboard or plastic and dremmel it all to size and drill all the holes if needed also.

Yes that's the one. Another forum member very kindly sent me a scan of his and I've now made a template in Adobe Illustrator. I'll be sending it over to Fibre Lyte tomorrow for reproduction!

Wow thats great news. I imagine Fibre Lyte should be able to make me one after yours is done. Will you be able to post pics of the finished product when you receive it?

Yes I'll try and get some pics up when it's done. Fibre Lyte will be able to make you one as well if you like the look of it!

Getting there! They are going to make it for me when they re-open in the new year so I'm really hoping to receive it within the next week or two. I can't wait as I've managed to build up a complete car from 99% new parts, I just need all the carbon bits to complete it!

Sorry it's taken me a while to update this, but here it is. I ordered everything from Fibre Lyte for my new build project which is now almost complete. The front damper stay I had made is a very good reproduction, though I didn't quite get it right at the recess that goes over the top of the front gearbox. I needed to file about 1mm off and now it's perfect. I'll probably order another and adjust the template so if anyone wants one from Fibre Lyte they'll have it on file.

Anyway, here it is - all I really need to finish it is some original tires. It's built almost completely from NIP parts.

This one is a shelfer, I've just picked up an unused vintage motor to put in it but it'll never be run.

I have a few others that I'm working on at the moment, one of which will be a brushless set up. I'm designing a new chassis, top deck and damper stays for that one, along with lipo tray. All will be carbon from Fibre-Lyte.

Wow. You redesign will certainly raise a few eyebrows amongst Lazer aficionados. Lipos a considerably lighter than sub-c so are you going to map weigh adjustments on the back?

It's going to need some playing around with and I'm no expert but will post everything on here when I'm done. I love the original ZXR design (it's what I raced as a teenager) but as I have quite a few ZXRs and lots of NIP parts I'm going to put that one together just as a bit of fun to see what I can achieve!

I like how this thread progressed from the search for a front tower to showing off a wonderful carbon Lazer
