Default Love food, hate waste.

I just watched 'Tonight - What a waste' on ITV player, a disturbing report about how much food we waste every year - 7million tonnes in the UK (up to 2 billion tonnes worldwide) whilst around 3 million children worldwide die of malnutrition. With food prices predicted to rise by 4-5%, families struggling to make ends meet, and homeless people starving, it's sad that we waste so much and that the major supermarkets will not engage in ethical disposal of supposed waste food - which is still perfectly good to eat.
I believe the supermarkets should be pressured into reducing waste, and encouraged to accept fresh produce of varying shapes and sizes - the odd shaped veg taste better anyway!
Well worth watching anyway: https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/tonigh...3-what-a-waste

I found this website to offer useful advice about reducing food waste too: http://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/
