After changing brushes on a checkpoint motor last night while the motor was connected to the speedo (but with no batteries in) my speedo has died. The switch was a little iffy beforehand, but even with the switch bridged, the speedo does not turn on - no lights, nothing!
Any ideas?

you may have a break in the switch wires between the switch and esc. If you can open esc and check continuity of wires it may be that simple .Strange for a esc to pack in with no power on.

ditto to the above, sounds like a dead switch.
How was it behaving the last time it worked? Hope you still have your little blue LRP warranty card? I may be wrong... but the QC2's still had the small "limited lifetime warranty" on the box when they came out.... |

I am reluctant to break into it to check anything because it does have "limited lifetime warranty". From what I can make out, the wannanty is valid as long as I'm alive...

If you have, or can obtain, a receiver pack, plug it into the BEC slot on your receiver and switch it on. Keep the speedo switch OFF!!
If the fault is in the switch, the speedo will fire up and work fine (as will the servo) and then you'll know.If you have no receiver pack, any pack of five cells will do, providing you can fit the correct plug with the correct polarity to it, and plug it into your receiver with all other connections the same as usual.
