This has, im sure, been asked before but has anybody thought of a better way to make the slipper on the BJ4 easier to use. I love the car but i find myself hating the slipper. At York outdoors, my pinion came loose resulting in a shredded spur gear. My spare slipper has got a stripped screw head in it and i didnt dare take the shredded 1 out to change spurs because of obvious reasons. Again, i love the car but have no faith in the slipper. Do i go for a different car or keep on trying with BJ4WE?

A mate of mine has been experimenting with an M2 screw and two springs, one on each end and has been having good results with it. It makes it easier to adjust and the M2 locknut holds up well.
I've heard of an Atomic Carbon mod but never found any further info on it. |

I does with a lot(!) of fiddling. You basically need the entire slipper unit and the front and rear center driveshafts. The whole conversion would cost around about 90-100$, which is a bit excessive...

Hmmmm, but it could be worth it if you really like the car, depends weather you would go to that extent to make it easy to work on/adjust.

Just put a Thrust bearing in front of the spring in the slippper, easy to adjust.
And it holds it on till you adjust againg....... ![]()

Cheers Chris but im really not sure i can be arsed to mess around with it for it to break at a meeting and not being able to get it sorted.Im seriousley thinking about changing it. As much as i like the car, im still not sure i have had my best results with it. I think its probably set up just as well as some others but the only time i have really had a good meeting with it was Worksop indoors. It was tremendous. Best i have ever driven. Not sure if the love affair will continue with the car. Richard Lowe lives too far away to keep fixing it for me!
