few questions regards the tm2

hi all,

i have decided to get one of these to compare with the hobao h2 pro during the remaining winter months and then stick with whichever i prefer for the summer season.

i have a couple of questions if anyone is able to answer them.

do losi spring fit the team c big bore shocks?

has there been anything in particular that is proving a week point yet?

how quickly can you pop the diff out, it looks pretty simply?

what do you get in the way of, and how do you adjust antisquat?

assuming antisquat is done by the rear hangers, are there Ali versions available of these from the 4wd car that are direct replacement?

what is the kit front kick up and castor angles?

Yes losi springs fit

Anti squat is done by spinning over the front and rear hangers, and yes you can get ally versions off the 4wd

Slipper is easy to get out, maybe 1 minute? This part does have to be built carefully to avoid problems

Diff probably about 3 mins to get out

No idea what the kick up is, kit castor is 25 deg

Don't buy a tm2 unless you never want to drive another car again! (Yes it is that good)

Don't think (but don't quote me either) that there are any left of the first batch. I know SMD have shipped all theirs out within a few hours.

So with the anti squat. How many possible angles are there? 1,2 and 3 degree?

Hi as the car is very new on the market its difficult to say if there are any common weak points but certainly nothing obvious has shown up yet. The kick up angle i can't help you with i'm afraid.

I've never even seen the Hobao so i can't comment on how the two cars will compare bit good luck with your testing, let me know what you think.

You can add shims to the front block also to give more antisquat if required

Really not sure on the actual antisquat angles, but I'm guessing that without using extra washers the angles would be 0,1 and 2

Spur gears I've done 2 runs and destroyed 2 spurs. Is anyone else suffering this. Have checked all the usual pinions good spurs sat and aligned correctly slippers engaging as should mesh is as should be

I did west bridgeford on Saturday 4 rounds plus final and 2 practices without any issue. The only time I've seen one let go is when the slipper assembly has been built wrong, the spur gear has a cut out for a pin on one side only, my mate put the spur the wrong way round, wrecked it within minutes.

Also spend plenty of time meshing correctly, there does seem to be a tight spot on many spurs, just spin it with your fingers for a minute until there are no tight spots, or over loose areas. Finally make sure motor is clamped down tight.

I'd be surprised if 0 was an option.

I do really like the car. Just needs Ali rear hangers

Pretty sure my car is set at zero degrees, or so close to zero you couldn't measure it. It doesn't need ally hangers, a nice option though lol

And you still have plenty of on power steering, and enough weight transfer forward for off power steering?

Yep, driving a tm2 is like nothing you will have ever experienced before. 15 seconds behind Lloyd storey including a huge crash 3 laps in (5 seconds to get marshalled etc) don't get me wrong I'm not good enough to pass him as he's an awesome driver but to get so close is nothing short of a miracle in my eyes.

Yes they are the bits, just check the pin braces before purchasing though, I'm 99% sure they are the ones

The problem with using the ali hangers is that if you have a heavy impact, instead of just breaking the plastic hanger you might break the chassis.

The pin slot in the spur doesn't line up with a hole in the centre shaft,the slipper wouldn't work if the spur was pinned to the shaft.

Has anyone tried losi 22 front wheels,or tried Durango 210 hexes on the tm2 driveshafts?

Unfortunately no one at local club has one so can't try before I buy so its a bit of a gamble but I think I'm gonna get one
