Smile Season's Greetings

Hi All

I would like to thank you all for your support throughout the year - it is much appreciated. I hope next year is as good, or better than this one. Let's hope that we do not have the same number of floods at the outdoor track!

On behalf of Batley Buggy Club - I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Regards
Dianne

Many thanks Alan, I appreciate the comments. However, as you will appreciate from the Aire Valley days - I am not alone, there is no 'i' in team -and if that was the case I would have finished a long time ago when my son finished racing.

Lots of different work by other members to enable racing to go ahead. Track is one of the main things - in the past this was always the one thing that irritated me about the racing - drivers came along with an expectancy that everything would be done for them because they had paid a race fee - and packed up and went home when they had finished racing, leaving everyone else to deal with the track, but, as you will have seen, we encourage participation from everyone - we are all volunteers and the more who help the better for all of us!

There are lots of things that are not done on race days that the club could not operate without - admin, organising sponsors, website, outdoor track repairs - I could go on.....................

If we all continue to do our bit then we can keep the Club running and continue to have successful meetings. I remember the days when we had 96 drivers at every club meeting - 4 minute races and manual counting on a Spectrum computer - thank goodness for technology.

Merry Christmas
Dianne

Very true Dianne...you have some very committed supporters ..Merry Xmas to them all..
We had a great team in the glory days of Aire Valley...the club died because the team broke up... I remember counting laps using a piece of foolscap with coloured dots to match the coloured flags on the cars !!!
