Has anyone tried this? Having the big bore springs on the small bore shocks?

Yep, I have tried it.
I ran them on my 410. Feels just the same as the small shocks. But there is no fowling on the body at all. And the springs feel more consistent. I have also run them on my C4.1 again not a huge difference for me. |

Running the same on all DEX410`s in the family.
Can`t say I feel any difference either, but atleast the color on the springs stay the same, black. |

Thanks guys.
What were you using for spring retainers and preload rings? |

Im using some home made collars.
Avid do a nice set of alloy ones. At first I used the standard big bore collars. they just sit in front of the small collars, The only issue is it effectively makes you springs a little longer. Again use the shock bottoms & ball ends off the big bores. |

Thanks
I got this PMed to me (thanks Arn0) as well so I have now ordered the traxxas parts and will use the original BB retainers or the new exotek ones http://www.petitrc.com/setup/BigBore...mallBoreShock/ LOL Real happy I checked, the original TD BB stuff fits the SB shocks no problem |
