Default B4 2008 spec - what and when?

Hi,

I'm interested in buying a new B4, but I'm a bit confused about the different models. On the AE website there nothing about the chassis difference between factory team and normal team kit. I know many people buy FT + a plastic chassis. What else do people change when buying the FT version?

But then I also read some stuff about a new B4 kit, people call it 2008 spec or 'the one with Cragg on the box' :-) What is the difference with the previous kits, and what chassis does it have?

Next problem is that no shop has a B4 available, any news on that?

I don't wanna buy a kit and find out that there's already a new version coming out a few weeks later...

Thanks for any help,

wouter

Wouter, changing from your Losi then!!

Firstly, you're right, it would seem virtually impossible to get a B4 FT kit at the moment (not sure about std team), and i have no idea why. I think this issue has been ongoing for a good few months now. I tried in Feb to get a car in the UK and was unable to.

Secondly, the "08 spec" FT kit with Neil's shell on front has a plastic chassis, and the newer gold shock shafts. Other than that i think it's more or less like FT kits of old. Well, they have rubber sealed bearings now (like team kits).

Team kits are in stock, Factory Team are about two weeks away according to the info we have.

As Matt has said, the chassis in the newer "08 spec" kits is now plastic by popular demand (easy for AE to do since they are cheaper!) the bearings are now the rubber ones and it is rumoured that the next btach "may" have the B44 rear hubs (with the larger outer bearing in them) but this is still to be confirmed. The way to tell an 08 kit from old one would be by the box which does indeeed have Neil's body on it, part number and everything else is the same.

There is no "all new" car coming out to replace the B4 in the near future from what we are told.

The rear hubs is an odd one, i know at least one person that had new hubs in his kit in Jan ish, but had old bearings!! Most of last batch had std hubs, seems there may just have been odd ones floating obout with B44 ones.

Yeah I thought about it so long, I think it's time to change :-) Not because i believe I will be faster (hope so of course ), but also because of the way things are going at Losi and just to have a new challenge. (it also keeps more options open for mid motor madness )

But it seems it will not be anytime soon, not gonna buy an old kit even if it's only for a few small things... Didn't wanna change before the GP and euro's anyway.

Thanks for the replies!
