Default Nosram pure2 motor stinking hot!..

Do these motors run really hot?.
I've purchased a nosram pure2 6.5t motor for my Durango and after 5 mins of racing you can smell how hot it is!, I've ran it on the same gearing as my last nosram storm 6.5t motor and I've changed to a smaller pinion and its still roasting hot,I've ran it in my b4,madmonkey,sc10 and in all if them it's come back boiling hot?..not impressed at all I've tried different speedos/lipos nothing changes?.. Any ideas?..I'm reckoning on I've bought a duff motor.

Don't know really as I've never changed it,what ever it comes with when you take it out the box, will changing it make any difference to how hot it is?

They are the sames lrp x12 motors sounds like you could could go down a pinion or two but yes they run hot if you read up about lrp x12 motors getting hot it will be fine though plus you shouldnt need much boost with a 6.5t

If you are offroad racing it will get warmer too i think they are ok to run upto 100 degrees before it effects performance and 120 before damage occurs i think the pure 3 or lrp x20 runs alot cooler but still can cope with the same temps as the predessesors
