Default Carbon Fibre rear shock mount

My X2C came with a carbon rear shock mount but it doesn't fit because the tab with the 2 screws on the gearbox housing gets in the way.

Am I missing something with this - am I supposed to file that part of the gearbox away (which I don't want to do as the shock mount won't be as solid anymore) or is it just a poor part that doesn't fit?

Are there any c/f parts that fit properly or some-other stronger rear shock mount (broke 1 already...)

I'd try a team c plastic one, very strong but with just enough flex to stop it from breaking.

I have this one on my x2c:

Very happy with it, no breakages & very stiff.

We have that one too - do you find the springs touch the turnbuckes?

They don't actually touch, the turnbuckles seems to almost go through the gap in the coil, even during compression.

We have seen that sometimes if the spring is not in the "right" position it can interfere with the turnbuckle. We have shimmed the rear hubs forward (taking out the clearance) and reduced the height of the top shock bushes so now it misses every time. Maybe it doesn’t matter that it touches but wanted to make sure the suspension movement couldn’t be jammed.

Got any pictures of this carbon one? Seeing as the only one I have seen is the full option one. Just out of interest are you trying to mount it to the front or the back of the bulkhead?
