Default Please help me choose a TC

Hi
I am looking to get back into racing and have decided to go into Touring cars.
After reading through the forum I have narrowed it down to a Schumacher Mi4cx or a X-ray T3 2011. ( offered by a couple of forum members )
I have chosen these as my local model shop stocks spares for both.
From what I have read both cars are closely matched.
Which of the 2 cars is:
Most durable to crashes
Best for carpet
Best for Tarmac
Easiest to setup
Better quality
Better upgrades available
Looks better (I know this is not going to help win any races. Lol)
I'm being drawn towards the Mi4 but I've only heard good this about the Xray
Honest opinions would be great, may be you have owned or used both?
Thanks
Baj

Go to your local club and see which is the most popular. Popular cars mean there will be a lot of set-up advice and spares knocking around.

Both cars are good. At our club I would say the X-rays break the most, (The T1 was tough, the last 3 models of X-ray seem to be quite a bit more delicate) and the spares are pricey. The schumachers and Tamiyas seem to stay in one piece.

How they look is down to what colour you like

well i bought an xray t2009 second hand last year and raced it all winter and the only thing that broke was the drive belt and i had a few hard crashes, the only real factor you have to think about is cost as xray spares are more expensive and alot more options to consider but having said that the i know people with schumacher's and they dont seem to have problems even bought my son an mi1 last year and he hasnt broke a thing on it and he is only 12 even won junior section last year with it and even beat some seniors, but xray is far nicer to look at

Either car would be excellent I'm sure, I had xray cars for years and there great quality build and parts, drives straight out of the box.

I havent had a Schumacher for a while but the newer cars look really good, cheaper spares. best thing to do is see what most people are running at your local club (my bet would be both lol) and go with which you think you like the most.

I have found out that the xray t3 2011 is really good on carpet(found out by breaking my t3 2012 haha) but the xray t3 2012 is better on tarmac.

I found that xray is one of the strongest cars because i have had some big crashes with my t3 2011 and never broke anything, since i had my xrays i have only one rear belt(because it was worn down).

Before i had my xrays i had a schumacher mi4cx and it was a nice car to drive and easy to setup to any other car, but since i have been with xray i have been up with the top people at the club.

Just go to your local club and see what they are running and what is the fastest car at that track.

I would go with a schumacher. The spares availiaility is great and they work well on carpet and even better outdoors!

Its pretty strong if you look after it, make sure you use a servo saver though because you will snap the steering arm otherwise.

There are loads of setups available for the schumachers also. as they are a British car they are very easy to get tips on them and to get them dialed for British tracks.

I can give you a good setup for one if you wanted for carpet

The Xray is also a very good car, i have a 009 as my spare car its as strong as hell too, the wishbones are solid compared to the Schumi. I couldn't get on with it because it felt really rigid.

Its all personal peferance really and how you drive the car, buy one or the other and you won't be far off a good setup
