Hi i run a pretty standard b4 has most of the ft upgrades but not any V2's.
Electric parts are; GM 10.5 motor nosram 2007 evolution esc pretty cheep standard metal geared servo which is slow but does the job. And 2.4Ghz acoms wheel transmitter and reciver, nothing special really only with trim ajustments. Overall im happy with my electrics seem to be fast as anyone else on the streights who are in my finals but cant help thinking im using a rear motored car in a central motor world. My question is do i go for a c4 conversion and saddle lipos or do i focus on electrics and v2 upgrades. Im Not that great with shocks setups anyway. I can only afford one or the other which will give me an overall better car? |

Not a lot wrong with your electrics except a decent servo – they do make a different and you will notice it.
Personally if I was on a budget and I wanted to go mid motor, I’d sell the B4 and buy a mid motor kit. Losi 22, Schumacher SV2, Durango 210 can all be found brand new for well under £200. You might be able to get a decent (Futaba/KO) secondhand servo as well and still stay within budget. If you want to stick with Associated, why not pick up a secondhand X6? – great cars but just not flavour of the month so go for silly cheap prices. If you are stuck on a C4.1 though (great cars, I had one), one has just come up on the for sale section cheap! Rob |

Get a decent servo first then see how you get on ..

A decent servo is a must, makes a real difference to the way a car responds. I sympathise with you about running a rear motor amongst hundreds of mid motor cars but the B4 can still work well. I only missed out on an A final at the fiercely competitive Silverstone club night due to a silly mistake on the last lap with my b4.

Great thanks for the reply's
looks like ill be getting a new servo as suggested, ill also put more thought into the c4, i see the up side of just selling the b4 but.. i don't really wanna start from the bottom again with a new car requiring a whole new set of spares ect. something ill have to look into. I race at maritime. |
