Just looking for a bit of info here, but is it possible to convert a Spektrum DX3S radio to lipo and if so how would one go about it ?

In simple terms no as you exceed the manufactures voltage. (brca general rule) Life pack would be ok

Have been running my dx3r on a 2200 mah 2s lipo for the last 3 years no problems.
Don't know anyone who has tried it in a 3s.
All i did was take all the lower screws out including some on the grip, just enough to get the aa bat tray out.
Then i unsoldered the two wires on the bat tray, and soldered the male plug coresponding to the one on the lipo, and just velcroed it in,with the bind plug blutacked to the lipo for ease of access, saves hunting in your box for it.
Hope that helps.
Mick.
