Default 210 gear diff setup

Hi,
I just wondered if the same setup wth the ball diff works with the gear diff,

Is the setup in the book a good start or has a new base setup been found,

Is there a mod to be done to stop the std rear shock tower from snaping,

thanks,
Mark

I am yet to run the gear diff but I know Gary uses 250cst oil in his Indoors and most people use 2000-3000 oil outdoors

Place some 1mm washers between the shock tower and mount to help reduce the rear shock tower breakage - this give the tower more room to flex on an impact rather than pushing on the motor plate and snapping...

You can space out the upper shock mounting point by the same to retain the same shock inclination.

As for gear diff, I went back to the ball after a poor start to the season - it was great indoors and when the grip is high and consistent, but I found the ball better on the outdoor track I raced on.

2k-3k for outside use if you wanted a start point...with 3k giving a more "locked in" feeling.

HTH

Jez Thorpe showed me his motorplate mod yesterday, to stop the tower from breaking. He's cut it flat to the motor guard screw hole. It gives you a few mm for the tower to flex a bit.

I've done this too, 2mm space between shock tower and motor mount, no breakages.
