Pack is not at the Oople race this weekend, so racing is on.

Regionals, Nationals and other big events like the oople race are affecting the club racing on a sunday night, meaning theres less and less people turning upto race or not even enough people to race

Good bunch of lads, good crack and always help each other out..........any ideas how we can change things to keep the numbers up ???

(Havnt been racing lately due to working 6-7 days a week, but will be back ASAP)

last time the numbers dropped
it switched to Sunday night racing. and for a few weeks there was good turn out
but then when regionals and nationals picked up again attendance died off.
also there is now racing elsewhere in the region that is more central and on an outdoor astro track.
I'd imagine there are some that were racing at seaham that have made the switch over to dynamix

Last week (sunday morning) I was at the dynamix track and there were very few there too. Think I got the look off Pack!

Summer is a bad time lots of people doing lots of things with wives and children.

Turn out is the least of clubs concerns at the minute looking at rhe big board in the entrance. If people were going to turn up I'd bother my arse and find a new venue. People didn't want Sunday day times and they got Sunday nights and still don't turn up. The club will cease to be at this rate.

It's no good crying when there is no where to race come winter.

We need a new venue, mid week dates and if this is the turnout then why should we bother seriously. We catered for peoples need then they don't bother. Cheers!

Hello David

I've not been available to attend for many weeks now, but one more is not going to add that much to the numbers. You know where most of them are.
We need racers plus club members who turn up every week. Where they come from I don't know. As you say mid week might be the answer but where? And, we need commitment!!

Commitment is what is seriously lacking unfortunately, the agm everyone agreed that night time was the way forward and everyone would attend. All of a sudden they want midweek racing what's to say we get somewhere and the same people let us down. The club wouldn't survive, the only reason we do now is because of the cheap rent without that the club would've stopped a long time ago.

It's too much of a risk to move. I'm not willing to risk the clubs future to please the monority that have shown so little commitment. We will be let down again.

Midweek racing you keep mentioning people want? Makes no difference. Longbenton was midweek and struggled before becoming TyneMet which is a week night (ok not midweek but Monday isn't weekend) and were still not getting enough to cover expenses some weeks! As for changing venue, if you find somewhere less than £25/hr you'll be doing well!

... it happens every summer, I dont know why everyone is suprised. Give it 4 to 5 more weeks, and it'll pick up.

Can see why dave is frustrated tho. Turning up to run it every week and noone shows. I'm disappointed when we have less than 15 at TyneMet do don't break even. A one off week we had single figures and I was thinking why do I bother?

you should move over to proper RC racing and come down to seaham
we have jumps and different classes and none of them mini nascar things that you run

You're confusing your clubs Afro. At Tynemet run both TC and Buggy classes WITH Jumps for the buggy lads - mini nascar? - I'm guessing you're on about the mardave's at Barley Mow? Well diss them all you like but there seems to be plenty people turning up to race them at Birtley - and getting people to turn up and race seems to be the biggest problem you're having at Seaham.
I'm hardly likeley to go to Seaham if there's a 50/50 chance of having enough people to race when TyneMet and Barley Mow get reliable numbers week after week so the racing is guaranteed.
My initial comment was a bit of advice for Dave so thanks for turning it round to have a go!
