Default The AstroTurf is Laid!!!!!!

It's true!

After a mammoth effort by a huge turnout for the work party last night, we got it done!!!

There's still a few bits to cut in properly, and a load of other jobs to do before it's the pristine race track we're aiming for, but it's a huge leap forward and the biggest hardest heaviest task of the whole build done and dusted!!!

So a MASSIVE thanks to everyone who helped with this stage of the build...literally could not have been done without you

Next Thursday evening we'll be down there again, a few jobs to do first, then lay a track and have a blast around, open practice only...but finally some reward for all the hard work! Had a quick blast around it last night too...as it was going dark...feels awesome so far, the shapes feel great, literally no part of the area we can't drive a car on

More pics and an update to the blog to follow soon...

Hi res version of the panorama below...oddly the stitching of the pic has removed the tree climb section, but it is still there in real life

Big thanks to Andy, Si and everyone involved in the organisational side of this! There must have been loads going on behind the scenes regarding the obtaining and transporting of the astro, discussions with Mendip, acquisition of the timber and the building of the rostrum etc. Plus all the hard work with the website and building interest on here and elsewhere. For those of us lending a hand, it's been fun to be involved!

On another note, with Andy acting as site foreman, does he have a new nickname of MUSCLES following his calls for help last night?
