Default Thinking of returning to racing - after nearly 20 years

Hi!

Old newbie here. The name is Jimmy Hamilton and I raced a lot from the mid 80's through to the mid nineties. Scottish champion 85, 86 & 87.

Considering returning to the sport, but hugely confused by the LiPo/brushless motor developments that have happened in my absence! (Nicads and 14t double brushed motors in my day!)

Also interesting how little the buggies themselves have changed! Virtually identical to the cars I was racing 20 years ago! (Apart from the ugly cab forward trend - especially the Kyosho Ultima RB6 - yuk)

Anyway, could somebody give me a quick rundown on the basics of Lipo, motor, speedo choices and anything else that might be worth considering if I choose to take the plunge!

Many thanks in advance for your info!

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy, have a look in the Scotland section. Buggies are quite popular up here again and there are probably names you'll recognise still racing.

Someone should be able to help with all the latest equipment.

The last round of our regional series takes place this Sunday at the Falkirk club if you fancies a drive up. You could take a look.

Regards

Dave Smith

I really loved the Intruder mostly because it was a Tomy and nobody expected it to be any good! It was! I'd love to come to Falkirk tomorrow, but may not make it. We'll see!

Didn't make it to Falkirk, but still keen to pick up the sport again. How was Falkirk?
