Smile Cool onboard video

A mate of mine's dad got a FlyCam, which usually straps on to the bottom of model planes. It only weighs 50g and doesn't really hamper handling much at all!
Sorry for the lengthy bit before the start. Mr. Gerd "Durango" Strenge didn't have his car ready in time

That's quality! Probably the best onboard r/c footage i've seen to be honest, love it about 2:10 in when you see the car in front take off, it looks really good!

Track looks cool too, i guess it must be pretty nice and smooth as usually onboard footage makes it just look like a complete blur!

We have been using the same FlyCam at some off-road meetings and I will be taking it with me again for Talywain.

Jimmy has sussed out how to use it and Stu Evans is always up for the test pilot role!

I used an Oregon Scientific ATC2000 helmet cam for wakeskating and this camera gives so much better pictures!

We had thought of getting a radio cam and then drive with virtual goggles but after seeing the video I think you would get very sick very quickly...
The idea was cool though to be able to sit at your pit table the whole day and not have to move away from it (we were feeling very lazy at the time )

yea I had a mini 1.2ghz wireless one linked to a laptop for video capture, not sure if it was static or interference I had, maybe I will edit it and post it up.

Very cool. I tried it on my 1/5 at a bash, but the 2 stroke interference is a bit noisy, this is just the cheapie cam from ebay at about £20 with receiver plugged into a Sony handycam

Here's one with the atc helmetcam. Way too big in fact to do some serious racing with it :-)

The clip is half the original speed.

Here's the full speed clip:

Also note the pics on top of the page, amazing what this thing captured :-)

Quality of the oregon is not that great... It says it's 30fps, but in fact every 4th and 5th frame are the same. This results in jerky motion especially visible in slow motion.

Sparrow, how much does that camera cost? Very good quality!

This is also quite cool:

Yeah here, but it won't help much... No pics showing the full track!

http://www.rc-offroad.be/pictures/20..._mvb/index.htm

You would need a camera with a stabilized lens and 60fps or better to be able to stabilize it even more with software, to get a real good video. It depends a lot of the track of course, a carpet track would be pretty good I think. But the one from my video is bumpy everywhere, and it doesn't have a long straight eiter. Every small jump looks like a massive hill :-)
