Default Which bodyshell for B44?

At the moment I have the standard shell on my B44 and it only just clears the fan on top of my Novak GTB. In fact if you lightly touch the shell above the fan you can hear it rubbing.

So, can anyone recommend a shell that has more height to clear the fan?
Would the D4 shell fit & is it taller or are the J concepts, Azarashi shells the ones to get?

Thanks

Where have you mounted your speedo mate? behind the servo or infront of the motor?

Just back the outer mounting screws for the fan out a couple of revolutions. The body will then be stopped by the screws before it touches the fan

The D4 shell fits easily (use it myself)

Speedo is behind the servo.

Good idea about backing the screws off, but does the D4 shell give you more clearance anyway?
Thanks

I think so, but not 100% sure. i guess it will depend a bit on where you place the ESC. Should in any case be no biggie.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, will play around with the location and setup of the fan first and then get another shell if it's still a problem.
It's difficult to know whether the blades that the fan threw were down to hitting the shell or just cos the clear Novak fans are crap!

The new Proline Vortex shell has been designed to accomodate brushless gear better, comparing the two the sides are higher and not as angled.

Default B44 Shell

I run a Proline Vortex shell on my B44 with the LRP TC Brushless system in it and find that it is a nice fit. There is a little more room at the sides on the Vortex shell that accomodates brushless systems.

Its not much of a looker though. But functional.

The B44 needs some funky shells to come its way!!!!

Hi Enfield, I am considering getting the vortex shell as well. Since you said it's not much of a looker, could you please post a picture of that shell from top down view. I can only see the angle view from the website. Thanks!!!

I'm having trouble deciding what B44 shell to get.
Is the Jconcepts Hi-flow aftermarket shell good?
