Sensorless Speedo Question

Hi All,

I have just bought a Hobbywing 60A EZRUN, and i was wondering will this work ok with sensored motors (you may realise at this point i messed up!!!) will it perform ok etc will it damage motor or lipos?

Should be okay, what you don't get with sensorless operation is smooth control at low RPM's, tendency for chugging or jerky but once rolling at any speed should be fine.

Just don't over gear the motor

Having done this myself ,it will work but there is no comparison power wise with a unsensored motor. If just bashing fine.
If it is for racing get an unsensored motor as there is a huge power difference( on e-bay for £20-£30 new). Maybe there shouldn`t be a difference but there is!!
With the ez-run there is no real cogging as it is a very good and adjustable speedo for the money.

I have had no problem with using a sensored esc with a sensorless motor, I found out that its alot slower than a sensorless motor and sensorless esc

So why do the top racers run with sensored systems if the sensorless is quicker?

A problem maybe a slight mismatch with sensorless esc and sensored motor not getting the best together but at club level shouldn't be a problem.

The point i am trying to make is .
A sensored system will be smoother & therefore a little easier to drive.( but not a lot)
A sensorless system is faster for the same amount of turns.
I suggested to buy a sensorless motor as it a lot cheaper than buying a sensored esc, so as to keep them the same .ie both sensored or both unsensored.
The Tekin can run in sensored mode at the start and then changes to unsensored once moving enabling the motor to run cooler.
