Default b44.1

Hi all,

just got myself a mint condition b44.1 roller,
as i am new to the electric side (raced nitros for 5 years) i was after some info on whats the best sized motor and esc to use, i would prefer a combo only because of price,
are all saddle pack batteries the same size, if not which ones are the best fit,
not got loads of cash to throw around so any info would be great,

cheers rob.

depends on where you are gonna race, your ability etc etc

easy part first is esc. you cant go wrong with a hobbywing 120A. these are cheap and where some of the top brands get their own bits made with a different sticker these can come as a combo although not sure if the hw motors are on the homologation list. if not then any from speed passion, hpi etc etc are all good quality and can be found around the £55 mark (especially if brought with a speed controller as part of a deal).

lipos on the brca list all have to conform to a maximum size and will all fit the b44.1 and can be found on a budget as well. intelec are on the list and can be found for aprox 50-60 depending where you shop, vampire, smc, hpi, can all be found at good prices as well.

check the brca lists then contact any of the shops on oople, racer or radio race car or your lhs for prices

Nathan

Default b44.1

my local track is all astro and one club race indoors so thats mainly where i would race it,
i have been offered a used ezrun 5.5t motor, esc and program card for £50,
i was looking at the ezrun as a starting point but i think you can get them new from hong kong for about £70,
the batterys, i have seen some on ebay, new turnigy nano tech 5000 £45,
what do you think of this as a starting point and are the batts legal,
rob.

I really would not waste your money you would be much better looking for a 2nd hand lrp sphere tc or lrp sxx v1 and just pick up a 2nd hand motor.
I went down the ezrun route when I started back and they are crap they blow for fun

Yeah you can race it would be meeting that require brca legal lipos as far as I can tell 90 percent of clubs don't care as long as they are hard cased I've been using the same type of cells for a couple of years no problem even at the nationals they didn't really check
