Default Problem with speedpassion 10.5R

Dear Guy's, bought this used speedpassion 10.5R sensered motor! When testing I thought or my diff did slip or my clutch did slip.
I hear a somewhat high tone sound and my Ansmann does'nt move, giving a small amount throttle it will move. Trying other motors everithing works like a blast, no slip sound atall.
So could this be the issue, Iám using a none sensered esc on sensered motors!
Did older or some brushless motors have starting problems?
Thanks for your support!

Hey Appie,

Can you give us a bit more detail about exactly what is happening with the SP 10.5?

Some things that pop into my mind are:
1 - the A / B / C wires could be mixed up. (Although this gives you a shudder and rocky movement, not a high pitched whine as you describe)

2 - have you reset the ESC for your new motor (i.e. any timing / boost settings from before and its running the correct software?)

3 - not sure, but are you saying that your ESC doesnt have a sensor port for the lead to go into? If that is the case then there is your problem. It would appear that these motors can be run without a sensor, but its my opinion that I wouldnt want to. The motor is designed to run as sensored but its not getting any info from your ESC. This would most likely lead to weird things happening. :/

Thanks Cardnim, yes I still struggle with a none sensered esc. Strangly Iám only having trouble with this motor, others also sensered work fine on my esc.
But, I will get me an other esc, will be the best thing to do
Thanks again.........Appie.

Could be the rotors shaft and magnet has come apart from each other so the magnet will spin when you hit the throttle but the shaft won't want to spin along with it . It'll make it sound like its slipping

I wouldnt agree with that.
It might be nothing to do with the ESC and you will buy a new one only to still have the same problem.

I suggest you pull the rotor out and check that the magnet is still bonded to the rotor...

Is there any static timing on the motor?

Just a thought as I am in no way experienced in these things at all.
Its not the motors sensor board warning tone making a high pitched beep is it?
I only say this because I had an LRP Motor make a high piiched continuous beep (whine) at me when I ran it without the cable by accident .

Well, opened motor and magnet is bonded ok.
Now when rebuilding motor there's no timing reverenspoint? Could timing be wrong?
Motor runs, car runs ok, STOPS, I hear a whining slipping sound, then suddenly my car gets launched like a rocket
(sorry my English could be broken)
