I did - at least now I have a legit reason to moan about whoever gets elected in (if it wasn't who I voted for, of course!).

I did although I'm not sure why as they're all a bunch of to**ers but as i4n said if you don't vote you can't really complain at what you get.

I did think that until this one. I haven't seen the Conservatives taking an active role in my Council Ward, nor Labour or Lib Dems, but Plaid Cymru has for the past two years, with newsletters each month, and coming round, knocking on doors.

When you don't have a worthy alternative, then apathy rules.

39% turnout this year, how crap is that!

That figure to me shows exactly what the general public thinks of the politicians.

Imo people don't vote because they are convinced that no matter who is in power we will still get shafted....

I still say, you got to vote to at least try and influence what happens in the area that you live in, you don't vote, you can't complain about the roads/schools/caounil tax etc I do think that there should be an option to Abstain your vote, so it is a vote of no confidence.

If you could vote online (or can you already?) then they would probably get a much better result.

After the government agency cockups with personal details being lost in a digital format, I wouldn't trust them at all lol

that is the other thing, if an 'off the wall' party puts a concerted effort, then they can gain seats on a council/government due to apathy of general voters!

I voted for the Cons, and Bury council is changing from Labs to the Cons.

Im frustrated that Conservatives and Labour are blaming the result on this 10p tax fiasco... it isn't! Its everything including that! Which they'd get intouch with reality and realise that we are hit in the pocket by:

Income tax
Poll tax
Price of fuel at the pump
Car tax
The war still costing us a fortune (yet they think we forget that)
Crime actually rising, their target is to low the statistic
NHS waiting lists to get on waiting lists rediculous, their target is to lower the statistic
Threat of charging us to use our bins
Intention of congestion charging other places than London

There's more, these are the ones which spring to mind.
