Default losi XXX setup for EC in italy

Hi,

Anybody out there who has a good setup for the losiXXX-cr for the upcoming EC in italy? The euro's and worlds were there already, so someone should have a decent starting setup for it :-)

I already have a decent setup for tracks like that, but I'm looking for other peoples setups to compare, and to try some more stuff, just to be well prepared this year.

Thanks for any info!

wouter

Here's my setup. Usually our tracks with similar surface are smaller, and never dried out as much as in italy. Last week I ran on a very dry track though (slippery).

front:
oil 25
piston red
limiters 0mm
spring orange
shock position 3-mid
camber link 3B
VLA short
+35gr in bulkhead

rear:
2° anti-squat
1° toe in on hub, 3° inboard (dus 4° totaal)
wheelbase: medium
oil 30
piston red
limiters 2mm
spring pink
shock position 2-inside
camber link 2B
VLA short
big wing
battery: front (not against servo)

Rear tyres: bigshot red, std foam (that's our control tyre)
front tyres: proline M3 wide or low profile

The car has lots of steering, and 'ok' grip rear. I tried x-2000 too, felt different but I'm not sure how :-)

thanks for the help,

wouter

I'd try something like this to start with.

front:
oil 32.5
piston red
limiters 0mm
orange or silver spring
shock position Outer hole on tower and middle on wishbone
camber link 2B
VLA Long
+30gr in bulkhead
Front wing used

rear:
1 gold washer under each hole on the squat plate raising it up (more pivot basically)

Medium wheels base, but long if it gets rough
oil 32.5
piston orange
limiters 0
Silver or red rear spring
shock position outer hole on the tower and middle on the wishbone
camber link 3-E
VLA short
big wing + 5mm gurney flap
battery: front (not against servo)

Rear tyres: bigshot red, std foam (that's our control tyre)
front tyres: I ran losi red - 3rib pre scrubbed

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the info!

Some questions:
-silver rear isn't that really really hard (still some rear grip left with that)?
-Do you always run front VLA long? I have the impression that with short arms on dirt tracks, the car is more like it's running on rails, instead of front and rear equally drifting sideways.
-I always raise the anti squat block on carpet or astroturf, to loosen up the rear (and get more steering that way). What are your thoughts about this?

When I see your setup, it looks like it will have insane amounts of steering :-)

-Yer silvers are very hard, but it always seems to work well.

-I always run long VLA unless it starts to get rutted then i move onto short

-The reason i raise the rear block is to get the car to turn. Losi are well known to have more power understeer than other makes, to me it just feels better that way

Like i say yer it does have lots of steering but i dont think thats a bad thing. If the rear grip is there, then why not make the most of it
