It is a nitro car for sure. The engine mount marks and the mechanical brake on spur gear shaft tells me

I've got an excuse, it's nitro and therefore not my interest.

As an educated guess I would say there's many parts similar in design to the early Kyosho Pureten Alpha though, but all Puretens were 4wd. Chassis colour would suggest either Thunder Tiger.
