Default B44 gearing: whay cant I nail it?

hey guys. I can never seem to get the gearing right on my b44, its always over heats. Im running a 6.5t hpi flux sensored motor (great motor by the way) but after about 8 mins of use it burnt me when i touched (thank god it didnt break, it gave me a blister ) Right now its get the stock spur, and a 22t pinion. Any suggestions on what pinion? thanks

Hi on my b44 with a 6.5 i would run a 19 pinion and that should help with the heat then go up or down a tooth from there.....

6.5 in my B44 equates to normally an 18 or 19 tooth pinion depending on the track, but an 8 minute run is going to generate a lot of heat whatever you do.
