Default Trip down memory lane....

Now that I have been firmly bitten by the 1/10 Buggy Bug I decided to have a wee wander down to one of our old track venues.

I don't know if anybody out there raced at Dumfries when we were at the Kingholm Quay track, but it was a good venue. The only reason we moved on from there to Hetland was the lack of toilet facilities.

Well, it's still a good venue! It's now a skate park and by the look of it it's perhaps not used very often. Not that that matters as there is still plenty of room for a track and I'm pretty sure the council would back it. The real reason I went down there was to see if there was a way to resurrect the club and I reckon a venue is a good place to start. I've, hopefully, attached some photos of the old place to remind you of the setting.

Just need a buggy, and some fellow members!

Jimmy

Already picturing the best track in Britain...if not THE WORLD!

Looks like a prime site.

Looking forward to perhaps a trip down south in 2013!

You're absolutely right! This was after Hetland as I remember running the Tomy here and the last race at Hetland was when I was driving Kyoshos.

The bit in the photo that is now a skate park was a BMX track. I've got big ideas for this place, but it may be a year or two away yet. I'll need a lot of help!
