Mine is a Sanyo VPC-CG65EX. Is plenty good enough for what you require. Examples of the videos can be seen on ME-OR.co.uk

I use a Canon MV-750 (although this has been superceded now) and it's fine for taking some footage of racing

There are a few MV890 canon's on eBay, new, seem to go for between 70 & 100.......see http://photography.search.ebay.co.uk/mv890_Camcorders_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR40QQsacatZ1 1724
A lot more plastic than MV750, but capable, easy to use, DV tape, DV out, wide-screen & mic inlet which is nice, there seems to be a bidder who is in for 65 on every one tho.
