I bought a B4 and it came with a Novak GTB and a 5.5t.
It didn't have reverse on so I found a manual online and activated it. Could it be slower with reverse on? Could it be the cap has had it as its about 5 yrs old? The motor seemed ok in my Mardave, I had to dial it WAY back to drive it. Do Esc's lose there oomph as they get old? I'm going to try the motor on my Tekin to check it again but just after some advice. Thanks |

What gearing have you got it on? Something around 20-22t should be about right for that motor.
Turning reverse on shouldn't affect the speed. Are you getting full throttle on the ESC? Try recalibrating it to the transmitter. |

Could it be running in reverse? check all your wiring, re-calibrate to your radio, and set max and neutral positions as described in the ESC setup. Run the speedo with a known good motor. run this motor with a known good speedo. is should become obvious if faulty.

I'm going to check the running it in rev thing first.
I'll check all that and do the recalibrate thing. What are the symptoms of a tired capacitor? I need time down the track mostly, I'm on day 3 in hospital and week 4 of having a cage on my leg and not driving. I'm going mental! |

I only asked about reverse as I know of a friend who was only allowed reverse in setup mode which gave reduced power as well. When he put it in race mode reverse was deactivated.
