Default Core UAC-50

Today, i got my new core charger. Plugged in the balance board, (the one you get with it), plugged in my sensor lead, (2S). Went through the settings. Set it in lipo balance mode, and after 10-15sec of charging it comes up with an error, (cell voltage). Changed the balance lead changed cells but everytime it comes up with the same error. Plugged the balance lead back into my UAC40 and no problems charging.
In the period of time it is charging if you look at the screen which shows the individual cell voltages, it seems to be showing voltages on 5 of the 6 cells. Which it should only be showing voltages on 2, as it is in 2S mode...
The only thing I can deduce is that the board is faulty??

Any ideas?

Have you definitely got it set to Lipo and not NiMh ?

I just bought one of these chargers too, first time with a new charger in 10 years and found it really difficult with it's menu options and stuff. The manual isn't that clear either.

Maybe best to find someone at your track with one and ask them about it ?

Just spent half hour with mine to try and get my head around how to program it. Think I've got it now

They're not easy are they... Glad you sussed it though. I don't know if it's the way the charger does it or the way the manual is written but having not done this for a long time it confused the hell out of me

OP my core charger started doing exactly as you say. And it's now failed completely. No screen display, nothing, just totally dead.

Only a 90 day warranty. Not impressed.

Into the bin it goes.

Although confusing at times, I found it relatively easy to set up and get the hang of. Only around 1 months use however and then some bad electrical burning smells were coming from the vents with the cell voltage error displayed on screen. A few extra attempts to charge both from 12V and the mains and the unit started billowing smoke. Sent back by my local model shop (FTD Coventry, awesome guys!!) and a replacement unit sent promptly. Will see how I get on with this one! 3 month warranty is bad though, surely should be 12 months on electrical items?

I didn't realise it was only a 90 day warranty ???

However I'm sure your rights as a consumer change that and you can return a product up within 12 months if it isn't working correctly ? There's probably some loop hole they're using though. It's bound to be on line somewhere, money saving expert's website or something I suspect - hopefully I won't need to look into it though.
