Default One cheesed off racer...

About 7 weeks ago, I recieved my Lipo pack courtesy of a well known swindon model shop on the web. It was a trakpower 4900 pack and I was really looking forward to running it at a club night, to take the strain off charging my NIMH's in time.

Due to a couple of problems (with my charger, I might add) it being faulty, it had to be sent back to Robitronic, who successfully diagnosed the fault and it was repaired under warrenty and returned (via Swindon model shop, who have been first class!). The faulty charger caused the pack to expand and be charged to 9v, thus ruining it.

I quickly phoned Trakpower, who advised me on how to discharge and dispose of the pack safely. They also checked out my charger spec and asked if i charged using the CC/CV method, which I confirmed. I monitored the pack during the charge, and it did blip up to 9v....

Trakpower kindly said they would replace my pack free of charge since it was not my fault the pack had been damaged, but the charger's fault. After about a week their was still no sign of a replacement pack, so I emailed the employee at Trakpower who I had dealt with previously. He replied mentioning that they were awaiting stock of the 4900 packs, since they were in high demand. I waited patiently for the pack to arrive, but nothing for about 3 weeks. I then emailed them again, informing them that the charger had returned, and WAS faulty. This time I got no reply off trakpower, and nothing futher since.

This time I contacted the model shop to let them know, that I got no reply off trakpower, and I still had not received my replacement pack. They mentioned that they had no 4900 packs either, but had some 3200 packs in stock. I then asked if I could have a 3200 pack in place of the 4900 pack instead, which they agreed to, and contacted Trakpower on 28th March. They said they would send out a 3200 pack free of charge on the following monday. This is now been another two weeks, and still no pack. I checked last week with the model shop to check the destination address, and it was my home address.

It would be very easy to bad mouth Trakpower on here and other forums, but I don't really want to do that, since they had excellent customer service when I rang up when the pack was overcharged. However I am desperate to try Lipo as I would buy more Trakpower packs if they are good....

Please send me another pack Trakpower! I will buy more!

Trakpower are a good bunch and it's nice to hear they offered to send a new pack out despite it being a charger fault that ruined it - but just a shame you've got lost in the system by the sounds of it.
Hope it's sorted soon mate - lipo is ace, but I'm sure you'll find that out soon enough.

TRAKPOWER 11/10 for customer service!

I received my parcel this morning, expecting a replacement pack...
Lo and behold I had got 2 4900 packs, a balancer AND STICKERS!

THANK YOU TRAKPOWER FOR ALL THE HELP!

Thanks to Jimmy for having this forum as well!

Can't wait to try them on Friday 25th at a club meeting.

Mark
