Default Esc overheating

Hi all,
I have a hobbywing V2.1 120A Esc which is overheating and doing so it is overheating my batteries and motor which then makes my motor freeze up. I have changed my motor today but it heats up that motor as well.
HELP PLEASE!

The Ezrun system does tend to over heat A LOT,so what you have to do is add a fan to the esc and motor (it looks awful, but with Ezrun you have to do that) and try a different pinion. ( less speed=less waste product=waste product=HEAT)

If your lipos are over heating then stop using the system completely, that's dangerous.

Thanks.

Have you got access to a multimeter? Disconnect the motor and the batteries and then measure the resistance between the battery + connection and each motor wire and the battery - and each motor wire. If any of them show up as a short or low resistance then you have blown the FETs in the speedo and that's why it's heating up

Yeah but I dont think a fan would do much good because even just turning it on and throttling it for a second it heats up, smokes and the engine cuts out.

Yes but sometimes it is the motor smoking not the esc even if we put the new one in we just bought today.

Sorry I missed this thread but could you post picks of the ecs. there are a lot of fakes knocking around. A pick of the wires coming of the esc and include the switch, or if you compare with this one on this forum.Just scroll down the page to view the picks. This is a fake.
