hi. I just built my car but found that there are a few parts i never used...
just wondering what they are for? it dont seem to mention how to use them in the manual as i was building it. - Some black rubber o-rings (similar size to the white ones for the shock seal, but are black) - The part that lookst like an Omega sign (right side of parts tree) ![]() - Foam Ball end sheet ![]() - The large circular plastic peice, i thought it was to put it between the threaded shock adjuster and spring, but it doesnt fit over the threaded part of the shock. ![]() Last edited by KyoshoK; 31-08-2006 at 09:28 AM. |

off the top of my head.
the black rubber o-rings on mine are over the motor screws in the motor mount. this keeps the screws in place while you line up the motor. my car was second hand so this may not be right, but it works well. also the foam rings are to go over metal ball joints before the plastic cup goes on, stops the dirt eroding it. i think the big black rings are to go over the shocks, they may just need working over the threads a few times to wear them a bit looser.

just looking at the manual online. the rubber rings are for the motor screws. the foam is for the ball joints. But i can't see the other bits used. they may be generic mouldings used on other models.
Niggs98 is the zx5 expert, he will hopefully confirm.

The other parts are not used on the ZX-5.
The omega shaped piece you mention is used on the TF-5 shaft drive car, the plastic shock rings are used on non-threaded shocks fitted to other Kyosho cars. |
